Safe & secure paper shredding services will be available at ALL Homeowners Cleanup Dates. Town of Oyster Bay residents only, no businesses, limit three banker size boxes per resident. Homeowners may bring any unwanted documents such as old tax-returns, bills, bank statements, etc. Documents are securely shredded on site. Please do not included plastic bags; plastic bags damage shredders and create a mess.

This program is for homeowners only. No businesses and NO vehicles with more than four wheels will be permitted to enter. This program is for non-hazardous waste only. Hazardous items can only be brought to the Town’s S.T.O.P. (Stop Throwing Out Pollutants) program only.

Disposal of boats, trailers, campers, motorcycles, mopeds, or any other registered conveyance which is registered by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, will require proof of ownership (Title and or Registration) to be surrendered at the time of disposal. In addition, all fluids, such as: gas, oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, transmission fluid, waste, etc., must be removed prior to arrival at the disposal facility.

ELECTRONIC WASTE RECYCLING PROGRAM

e-Waste Recycling is held on the same dates as the S.T.O.P. Program and Homeowners Cleanup.

The Town of Oyster Bay continues its leadership role in recycling by initiating the first regularly scheduled Electronic Waste Recycling program on Long Island. The program addresses the growing nationwide problem of e-waste, such as computers, cell phones, pagers and VCRs. These items not only have a low level of biodegradability, but they contain materials such as lead, mercury and cadmium that are highly toxic when released into the environment. This program ensures these items will not wind up in a landfill or incinerator.

What you CAN bring to Electronic Waste Recycling Collections

• Small scale servers
• Cathode ray tubes
• Hard drives
• Laptops
• Electronic or video game consoles
• Digital cameras
• Electronic keyboards
• Portable digital music players
• Telephones
• Cell phones
• Televisions & cable/satellite receivers
• Digital video recorders
• Digital converter boxes
• Stereos, speakers & radio equipment
• Electronic mice or similar pointing devices
• VCR’s & DVD’s
• Microwave ovens
• Computer peripherals & small electronic equipment (including any cable, cord, or wiring permanently affixed to or incorporated into the computer peripheral or small electronic equipment.)
• Copiers, fax machines, printers and scanners (only those intended for use with a computer and weighing less than 100 lbs.)

You don’t have to store Electronic Waste between Electronic Waste Collection dates. Residents may bring electronic waste to:
